Physical Education
Physical Education
Physical Education at Malorees School plays a vital part of everyday school life. All pupils have two hours of PE timetabled each week to cover the six main areas of the National Curriculum:
Dance
Gymnastics
Interactive Games
Swimming
Athletics
Outdoor and Adventurous Activities
Alongside the PE Curriculum the children have an opportunity to participate in numerous before school, after school, and lunch time clubs, including football, family fitness, chess, yoga and gymnastics. A selection of other sports is offered on rotation throughout the school year.
Fun, enjoyment, confidence, competence, and self-esteem are at the forefront of our PE delivery. Children in Nursery, Reception and KS1 develop fundamental skills such as aiming and throwing, balance, co-ordination, control, and mastering basic movements. In KS2 children refine these fundamental skills to develop further, learning to link them, and transfer them into all aspects of PE.
At Malorees we aim to inspire ALL pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activities. We provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.
