Malorees Triathlon Team raises over £19,000 for the school

A HUGE thank you and well-done to our magnificent Malorees team who took part in the various Triathlon event on Saturday.

Including our children who took part in duathlon events we had over 60 of us, raising over £19,000 for the school!

Everyone had an amazing team in good weather – as you can see from the photos - and a record-bearing £19,144 has been raised from everyone’s kind donations.

This will be invested in school priorities that will be outlined at October’s PSFA AGM – date tbc - and will include exciting opportunities for outdoor learning across both schools.

We sent the largest team from a giant 237 people from across the area, which included other schools and over 20 local charities. You can read all about it in this week’s Kilburn Times article.

Among our big shout-outs are to our staff team, led by Ms Helen Smith and Mr Cleary with Ms McClean, Ms Jakeman, Ms Olivari, Mr Wright, Ms Barroso. Also to Mr Goodwin and Ms Kelly-Keegan who have now left the school but still very kindly fundraised for us!

The parent team included some very last-minute additions to cover for illness and some Relay team members gamely also completed two legs to cover for their missing team member.

Huge thanks to Giles Deards for again organising and to Kate Norman, Jamie Baird, Ruth Eglin, Venera Itaebaeva, Katie Holt, Amy Sharrocks, Martin Sharrocks, Beth Silver, Chay Lawrence, Anna Smith, David Goodhew, Domenico Sansalone, Gareth Heal, Sally Lyden, Katherine Winter, Lisa M, Muriel Clarke, Natalie Pender, Nick Dugdale-Moore, Paula Ergtides, Wenda Harrison, Wendy Gribbon, Stacey Brown, Rich McAuley, Cat Hockley-Roter, Tim Roter, Nick Friedman, Natalie Egratides, Trevor Mathurin.

The children had great fun with their duathlon events (run and cycle), learning how to transition and earning themselves certificates!

JOIN FOR NEXT YEAR?

The event returns in May next year and we would love to send an even bigger team and there will be lots of keep-fit exercise options organised by the school and local groups. Please drop a line to Giles Deards at kensaltriathlon@gmail.com.
